You see that yellow pepper? That is an essential element of Jamaican cooking. So for those of you who want to try our Jamaican dishes, I have sourced it for you! Hurry because they are likely to go very quickly!
They are available at… Lulu Barsha in trays of around AED16-18. Per kg, they are AED99.95. Expensive yes, but very worth it because the flavour cannot be replaced. Regular chilies tend to carry heat without flavour. These have both and you can tame them down even more by cooking them whole, as called for in most Jamaican dishes.
Where exactly can you find them? Head towards the section where they grind coconuts. When facing it, you will see a long refridgerater against the wall on the left. They are there. Note that they are all orange.
Please come back and tell us if you were lucky!
CHEF’S NOTE: For preservation, freeze them in a freezer bag and you will have them for as long as you like.
