This is a story of grace. I made the cover story for the WKND magazine in the Khaleej Times. It is my second known cover in the almost six years since I started my weekly When Hunger Strikes column in Dubai on April 1, 2011. Funny enough, I wrote this story from the same 13″ laptop I wrote the first story because we haven’t received our shipping yet. It includes my massive 27″ iMac, which for a content creator with chronic neck pain, a necessity, not a luxury. One of the things I love most about myself is that I never give up. I may have to modify my approach and make peace with my reality, but I will not stop. So yes, this is by every means a public “pat yourself on the back sister for fighting on and making the best choices as I discover the map for an entirely new territory!’
I have been working through a lot of adjustments in this most recent move (LOTS to blog about) and I keep on going because I know that God never leads us where His hand cannot sustain us (can I get an “Amen?!”). Challenges are part and parcel of my growth story. And this cover story is rather special.
My cover story in the Khaleej Times WKND magazine
As I often do, I opened it up and invited bloggers to comment. I got some amazing responses and my editors published six of them. I am happy to share my space with others because that’s what I do. There is enough in this world for all of us. Blogging is about sharing, first and foremost, and while this topic has everything to do with getting paid, the actual bottom line of blogging is being able to find a voice, articulate it and the blissful discovery of an audience. As we share, we add value to others and enrich our own experiences. It’s a community. Scroll below for the actual layout of my cover story in the Khaleej Times WKND magazine.
