If you want to know how to segment citrus, or peel madarines, tangerines and clementines, this is your post. Scroll through for step-by-step picture tutorial and see great ways to present them in a citrus salad. This is how you can also prepare tangerines, mandarins, and clementine for babies to eat safely without choking. Of course you would then cut them into tiny pieces.
Peel the skin off the fruit and break apart into separate pegs like this. Using kitchen shear, snip the edge of the pith as shown. Make a tiny snip, just enough to cut the white bit.
Turn it around and snip the other end.
Now you will have this opening at the top.
Start peeling the pith away gently.
Continue to peel away gently then repeat on the other side… and voila! Do this for every peg.
In our next post, we will focus on How to Segment Oranges & Grapefruits. Both these posts will help you to make our Sunny Citrus Salad. It takes a little time, but it is very rewarding.
